Why so much for a rescue dog?

Most dog adoption fees, whether from a breed rescue, or an animal shelter, range from $150.00 to $800.00. Why so much money? Who would pay that kind of money for a dog nobody seems to want anyway? A lot of truly caring people would, that's who.

What our Adoption Donation Cover

  • We spay or neuter our rescued dogs

  • We provide primary and rabies vaccines

  • We provide heartworm tests & preventative

  • We provide fecal tests for internal parasites

  • We provide flea and tick preventative

  • We microchip all fosters under 12

  • We provide health and veterinary care costs for all of our fosters

  • We provide a temporary home

  • We provide food and grooming

  • We provide personal care and love

  • We exist on volunteers and donations only

Although the adoption donation is a way to subsidize costs of caring for the numerous dogs we take in, it also serves one greater function.  The adoption donation will put off anybody who is not willing to spend money on their animals. In most cases, our adoption donations do not even cover the costs of the care we provide for our fosters.

If you can not afford a $200.00 adoption donation, then you are unlikely to be able to afford care for your pet when he falls ill or has an accident.  Saving the money to adopt a dog is a lot easier than having $500.00 cash in hand when something goes wrong and medical attention is necessary.

If you won't spend it to bring home a loving companion, then it is more than likely that you won't spend it when it is really needed either.  It is a harsh world out there for pets, and making sure the dogs go to a good, loving and responsible home that will care for them for the rest of their life is our number one goal.

We rely solely on donations and volunteers.  We do not receive any type of financial assistance from the state.  Our fosters live in private homes until they are adopted.
