Why so much for a rescue dog? Most dog adoption fees, whether from a breed rescue, or an animal shelter, range from $150.00 to $600.00. Why so much money? Who would pay that kind of money for a dog nobody seems to want anyway? A lot of truly caring people. What our Adoption Donation Cover
Although the adoption donation is a way to subsidize costs of caring for the numerous dogs we take in, it also serves one greater function. The adoption donation will put off anybody who is not willing to spend money on their animals. In most cases, our adoption donations do not even cover the costs of the care we provide for our fosters. If you can not afford a $200.00 adoption donation, then you are unlikely to be able to afford care for your pet when he falls ill or has an accident. Saving the money to adopt a dog is a lot easier than having $500.00 cash in hand when something goes wrong and medical attention is necessary. If you won't spend it to bring home a loving companion, then it is more than likely that you won't spend it when it is really needed either. It is a harsh world out there for pets, and making sure the dogs go to a good, loving and responsible home that will care for them for the rest of their life is our number one goal.
