China had her surgery to remove her ulcerated eye and is doing well no infection at the surgery site. Her good eye is responding well to treatment.  Her stitches come out soon. She seems to feeling good.
 

6/28/06 UPDATE

China has hit yet another road block.  The dry eye condition in one of her eyes has not improved with meds.  Her eye has become ulcerated and is about ready to rupture.  China needs to have her eye removed ASAP.

6/19/06  UPDATE

China is doing much better. The Dr. removed 3 tumors from her abdomen .They were not cancerous and she has recovered nicely from her surgery. She also has had several of her teeth removed.  It seems like her dry eye will always need attention and medication so that she can keep her eye.

China:  Surgery scheduled for Thursday. 5-25-06  They will remove her tumors and send off sample to be tested because they are suspicious. Doesn't look good but you know they have fooled us before.  Her blood work will be done that morning prior to surgery.  If the tumors are not too complicated and don't take too much time they will work on her teeth. They just don't want to keep her sedated too long at one time.  at least one of her canines is going to be pulled.  It is very loose. He wont know for sure what teeth he can save until he's in there. 

Dry eye:  The ointment she came with is to get the tear ducts working again.  Our vet thinks she has had this too long for the medicine to reverse it so we now have antibiotics and artificial tears that must be put in several times a day so that it is not so painful for her.  This will have to be done for the rest of her life. There are alternatives neither of which are pleasant for China.  Her new home will have to be willing to do this for her.
